Cold War Kids are previewing their highly anticipated forthcoming album ‘Loyalty To Loyalty’ in its entirety online beginning today (September 16), and are giving away two free remixes of their new song ‘Something Is Not Right With Me’.
The Richard Swift remixes are available via the band’s MySpace page, while the album is being streamed via MTVU.com until September 22.
Speaking about the new album, frontman Nathan Willett told NME.COM that the band tried to make it a departure from their 2006 debut ‘Robbers And Cowards’.
“It’s definitely more mature,” Willett said. “It’s structurally, lyrically and musically a better record. ‘Robbers And Cowards’ had a much more sharp sound and this has a much more round, warm and darker sound. There are a lot of ways in which they’re very different records.”
The band recorded the new album at two renowned Los Angeles studios, Ocean Way and Sound City.
“They’re bigger-name studios than we’ve been in before,” Willett said. “We didn’t want to do a big chunk of time in those studios non-stop for months at a time like a lot of bands do. Panic! At The Disco block out six months of constant studio time, but we like to write in our own studio and then go to the recording studio when we have a finished song that we can record in a couple of days or a day and not over-think it.”
‘Loyalty To Loyalty’ is due out in the US on September 23, and the band will kick off a North American tour at the San Diego Street Scene music festival on Saturday (September 20), as previously reported.
