Song part of soundtrack to new Angelina Jolie film
Coldplay have unveiled a new song as part of the soundtrack to the forthcoming film by Angelina Jolie, Unbroken.
‘Miracles’ is the band’s first release since their last studio album ‘Ghost Stories’.
Due out on Boxing Day, Unbroken tells the story of Olympian and war hero Louis Zamperini, who survived in a raft for 47 days after a plane crash during World War II, only to be caught by Japanese forces and sent to several prisoner-of-war camps. The soundtrack to the film will be released on December 15 via Atlantic Records.
Last week, Coldplay revealed that they were working on their seventh studio album, ‘A Head Full Of Dreams’. “It’s our seventh thing, and the way we look at it, it’s like the last Harry Potter book or something like that,” frontman Chris Martin said. “Not to say that there might not be another thing one day, but this is the completion of something… I have to think of it as the final thing we’re doing. Otherwise we wouldn’t put everything into it.”
Back in May Coldplay’s sixth album ‘Ghost Stories’ went to Number One in the UK. The band supported the release with a short world tour which included shows at London’s Royal Albert Hall.
