Coldplay invite fans to plot their own storyline with interactive ‘Ink’ video

Video coincides with the release of Ghost Stories Live 2014

Coldplay have unveiled an interactive video for new single ‘Ink’ that allows viewers to plot the animated tale of a traveller who treks to the edges of the world in search of his lost love.

Real-time choices change the video and can result in 300 possible outcomes. Created by LA-based design studio Blind and digital media company Interlude, the piece is available to view now via Coldplay’s website.

‘Ink’ is taken from the band’s most recent album ‘Ghost Stories’ and the new video comes quickly after the Monday (November 24) release of a live DVD and Blu-ray described as a “visual representation” of the LP. Ghost Stories Live 2014 was recorded in March in a custom-built amphitheatre at Sony Studios, Los Angeles.

“The ‘Ghost Stories’ show at Sony Studios was a very special moment for our band,” said frontman Chris Martin, speaking last month. “The magic theatre built by our incredible crew with the 360 [degree] screens was literally a dream come true. And it was the first time anyone outside of our studio had heard the new songs. This film is basically our original vision for the ‘Ghost Stories’ album.”
