Coldplay’s Chris Martin: ‘We’re going to keep chasing Kanye West’

Singer also jokes that bedding the Corr sisters was one of his band's only ambitions

Coldplay singer Chris Martin has said his band are inspired to keep pushing themselves by rapper Kanye West.

Martin, who collaborated with West on his 2008 single ‘Homecoming’, has said that he feels like his band have “to keep chasing Kanye West” and also said he didn’t feel that he and his bandmates would ever split, even if their popularity declines.

He told The Sun: “There might be an end to our popularity but I think there won’t be an end to our teamness or gangship, camaraderie, Also, I’m always looking at Kanye West and he’s moving so fast, doing such amazing work that I want to keep chasing him for a while. I don’t want to give up just yet.”

Martin also joked about his band’s ambitions, and said that they’d only ever wanted to “make it big in America or sleep with the sisters from The Corrs” and had achieved the first one.

Coldplay are currently touring across North America after completing their run of UK stadium shows. They end their world tour in November in Sydney, Australia.

The band are set to play the closing ceremony of the London 2012 Paralympic games on September 9.
