Coldplay’s Chris Martin: ‘Our Xylobands were designed by sex toy inventor’

Flashing wristbands made by erotic engineer, reveals singer

Coldplay‘s Chris Martin has revealed that the Xylobands they give to fans at their live shows were designed by a sex toy inventor.

In an interview with XFM’s Smart On Sunday, the singer divulged that the flashing wristbands which light up with different colours during their gigs were an innovation by RB Concepts chief Jason Regler, who has previously made erotic aids which are used with mobile phones.

Talking about the invention, Martin said:

There’s a guy called Jason who likes Coldplay. He used to make mobile phone vibrating sex toys. Basically, he’s an inventor. I think he came to Glastonbury this summer and he had an idea while we were playing to make these glowband things.

The frontman went on to add: “He contacted us and said, ‘What do you think?’ And we said, ‘It sounds like the best idea ever’… and now we have them for every person who has a ticket.”

Yesterday (December 12), Martin paid tribute to Lady Gaga and admitted that she was a better songwriter than him, stating: “I just admire all of the hats and the dresses and the madness and everything because I know that underneath it all she can beat me at writing choruses.”

Coldplay will play a massive UK tour next summer, playing a total of seven shows at football stadiums, including three nights at Arsenal FC’s Emirates Stadium.
