Coldplay’s ‘shit day’ after BRITs snub

Band upset after no win despite four nominations

Coldplay branded this year’s BRIT Awards a “shit day” after not winning a single award at last night’s (February 18) ceremony.

Going into the Earls Court bash, Chris Martin and co had lead the nominations with Duffy, picking up nods in four categories.

However the band where snubbed on the night, failing to win a single prize, while their rival Duffy picked up three awards.

Speaking afterwards as his band played a rare intimate charity gig with The Killers and Bono, Chris Martin expressed his frustration at missing out.

“We’ve just got back from Japan, lost all the BRITs, it’s been a shit day frankly,” declared the singer, however he did manage to cheer himself up by getting Take That’s Gary Barlow to guest on ‘Back For Good’ during their set at the O2 Shepherds Bush Empire, declaring: “The day is going to get better, please welcome Mr Gary Barlow!”

Coldplay were also joined onstage by The Killers and U2‘s Bono to perform ‘All These Things That I’ve Done’.
