Chris Martin previously took part in 'Late Late Show' host's 'Carpool Karaoke'
James Corden joined Coldplay onstage last night (August 21) to perform a cover of Prince’s ‘Nothing Compares 2 U’.
The Late Late Show host joined Chris Martin and co at the Hollywood Rose Bowl to kick off the song, which was later made famous by Sinead O’Connor, before the group joined in to sing with him.
“We’re here at the Rose Bowl. I’ll be honest, I didn’t know how big it was when I said, ‘yes,'” Corden quipped. “I’m a little nervous, but thanks to the four of you on behalf of this audience …for this incredible night that you have given us all.”
Martin added: “This next one goes out to Prince everybody. It’s very important.”
After the track finished, the singer presented Corden with a cake before he urged the crowd to sing ‘Happy Birthday’ to the presenter, who turned 38 today (August 22). You can watch footage below.
Ealier this year, Martin and Corden sang Coldplay hits and a David Bowie cover in the presenter’s ‘Carpool Karaoke’.
In the clip, which you can see below, Corden picked up Martin as the Coldplay frontman looked for someone to take him to the Super Bowl.
During the ride the pair sang Coldplay songs ‘Adventure Of A Lifetime,’ ‘Yellow,’ ‘Viva La Vida,’ ‘Fix You,’ ‘Hymn For The Weekend,’ ‘Paradise,’ and ‘A Sky Full Of Stars.’ They also sang David Bowie’s ‘Heroes.’
Coldplay also recently unveiled the lo-fi video for their new single ‘A Head Full Of Dreams’.
