have decamped to NEW YORK to continue recording their third album, NME.COM can exclusively reveal.

The band flew out earlier this month with producer Ken Nelson to a top-secret studio to record more songs for the follow-up to ‘A Rush Of Blood To The Head’, which is set for release at the start of 2005. It’s their third studio session after demoing the album in Chicago and recording in London earlier this year.

A source close to the band told NME.COM: “The group have been in London working at various studios and now they’ve flown out to the US. It’s still very much early days but they’re hoping to get it finished before the year’s out.”

Last year singer Chris Martin told NME.COM that over 40 songs had been written, then scrapped. Working titles for the new songs include ‘Poor Me’, ‘Moses’ and ‘World Turns Upside Down’, while the song ‘Gravity’ has been donated to [a][/a]as their comeback single, released on August 30.
