BIG NAMES BATTLE FOR IVOR NOVELLO AWARDS

There's a few of the usual suspects - and a couple of shocks. Belle & Sebastian?...

COLDPLAY, Dido, KYLIE, BELLE AND SEBASTIAN and JONNY GREENWOOD have all been shortlisted for the 49th IVOR NOVELLO AWARDS.

The award ceremony honours British songwriters, composers and music publishers and will take place at London’s Grosvenor House hotel on May 27.

The Best Song Musically And Lyrically category sees nods go to [/a], Will Young, and Belle And Sebastian, while the Best Contemporary Song award will be fought for by [a], Amy Winehouse and Kylie.

Radiohead guitarist Jonny Greenwood is shortlisted in the Best Original Film Score category.

Coldplay‘s ‘Clocks’ faces competition from Jamelia’s ‘Superstar’ and [a][/a]’ ‘Hole In The Head’ for PRS Most Performed Work trophy.
