Tabloid reports indicate the group will be road testing new material early next year - well, we can give you the truth...

Reports that COLDPLAY are planning a club tour to coincide with the release of their third album have been rubbished by their label.

As previously reported on NME.COM, the group plan to release the follow-up to ’A Rush Of Blood To The Head’ in March next year.

According to The Sun this morning, the group will play a handful of dates in universities around the time of release to try out the new material.

It’s reported that gigs are set to take place in cities including London and Liverpool, and a show is also said to be planned in Scotland.

However, a spokesperson for the band told NME.COM that the story is “rubbish”, and that the group are likely to be in the US around that time.

The band head out to the US in March, where they’re already confirmed to headline the ‘A Sounds Eclectic Evening’, organised by LA radio station KCRW (March 12).

NME.COM understands more shows in the US will be confirmed, and a date at the Coachella Festival in California is also rumoured.
