The singer teamed up with Indian musician Vishal Dadlani for the 'jam' session
Coldplay frontman Chris Martin played a surprise gig on Wednesday (July 1) in the Indian capital of Delhi.
The singer was in the city with actress Frieda Pinto, supporting the Global Poverty Project. The pair had been with Indian musician Vishal Dadlani when they decided to stage an impromptu performance at the Summer House bar.
“We were at a dinner together, and he just went ‘let’s go play somewhere’! And, boom!” Dadlani explained on Twitter.
He added that the performance was “more jam, less gig. Chris did all the work, though. People were going apeshit.”
Watch Martin perform in the fan-shot footage below. Songs he performed included Coldplay’s ‘Viva La Vida’, ‘Fix You’ and ‘Paradise’.
Chris Martin was recently ranked as the world’s ‘most listened to’ dad on Spotify to mark Father’s Day last month (June 21).
Meanwhile, Coldplay recently released a 12-minute musical parody of Game of Thrones. Game of Thrones: The Musical was recorded with the cast of the HBO series for NBC’s Red Nose Day.
The film aired on the US channel as part of the fundraiser for children living in poverty. Watch the video here.
