'A Rush Of Blood To The Head' has gone to Number One in 11 different countries to date...

COLDPLAY have sailed straight into the US BILLBOARD chart at Number Five with new album ‘A RUSH OF BLOOD TO THE HEAD’.

The band have sold over 140,000 copies in the US on their first week, and chart higher than the first lady of hip-hop Eve, who goes in at six after shifting 122,000 copes of ‘Eve-olution’.

Coldplay have now scored 11 chart toppers with their new album, including Australia, Canada, Germany and the UK. However, they have failed to excite Austria quite as much, where the album could only manage Number Ten. It is expected to remain at Number One in the UK this coming Sunday (September 8).

Back, in the US, the Dixie Chicks have upset the Eminem/Nelly hegemony. Their third major-label album, ‘Home’, charts at One, with a staggering 779,000 sold last week.

Eminem‘s ‘The Eminem Show’ dips to Two with 175,000 copies sold, while Avril Lavigne’s ‘Let Go’ remains at Three for the second straight week.

Nelly‘s ‘Nellyville’ drops to Four, its lowest chart position since release in the US ten weeks ago. However, 145,000 copies sold takes the follow-up to 2000’s ‘Country Grammar’ over the three million mark in the US.
