And there's even a possibility that the Thin White Duke may join the band onstage...

COLDPLAY are planning to cover David Bowie at their forthcoming MELTDOWN show.

The group are finishing their second album, which as revealed by NME.COM will be titled ‘A Rush Of Blood To The Head’. Songs from the album will be played the David Bowie organised festival at the London Royal Festival Hall on June 22.

Groupmember Will Champion told Radio 1 that they were planning a tribute to their curator, and even hinted he might join them onstage.

He said: “Hopefully at Meltdown, which we’ve been asked to do by [a][/a], which is quite an honour, we’re going to try and cover a song by the great man. There might be a surprise guest appearance.”

Following the show, the band are confirmed for this year’s Glastonbury festival.
