COLDPLAY have added a DUBLIN date to their tour – as their new album achieves the biggest first week sales for any album in the UK this year.

The group have just added a second date at the Dublin Point for October 27, as part of their previously announced tour in the UK and Ireland. Tickets for the show go on sale later this week.

Coldplay head out to the US today to play a tour with Ash in support of ‘A Rush Of Blood To The Head’, which last week achieved the biggest first week sales for any album this year in the UK this far.

In Britain, this week’s NME cover stars sold 274,000 copies, beating the likes of Eminem‘s ‘The Eminem Show’ and Oasis‘ ‘Heathen Chemistry’.

A spokesperson for the band told NME.COM that the success of the record has been mirrored across the world, topping the charts in Australia, Italy, Denmark and Norway, as well as Number Two in Germany, Number Three in Holland and Number Four in Finland.
