As stars including P DIDDY, MOBY and MARILYN MANSON converge in BARCELONA for tonight’s MTV EUROPE AWARDS (November 14), COLDPLAY singer CHRIS MARTIN has told NME.COM he’s revelling in the celebrity hoo-hah.
Martin has been hanging out with Diddy and Robbie Williams at the swish Arts Hotel by the harbour in Barcelona, spending last night playing backgammon with Williams .
Speaking at the hotel this afternoon, the Coldplay frontman said: “What you’ve got to realise is that Robbie, P Diddy, all those other people, they are just normal people. It’s all bollocks. But I’m loving it anyway!”
Williams , who performs his single ‘Feel’ for the first time at the awards ceremony at the Palau Sant Jordi tonight, was less forthcoming. Having spent most of the day at the hotel, surrounded by heavy security, playing backgammon again, he told NME.COM to “fuck off” when asked for a quote.
The majority of the hundreds of fans gathered at the entrances to the hotel – an estimated 200 flocking around each entrance – have been shouting and asking for Williams .
Among the stars mingling at the hotel have been Marilyn Manson, [a][/a] and Moby. While Christina Aguilera has been at the hotel, she declined to join the rest of the stars in the bar. Eminem has also been elusive, having not yet put in an appearance at press time.
With long-time buddies Marilyn Manson and Eminem together in the same place, there has been speculation that they may yet reprise their double-act. Their duet on ‘The Way I Am’ was a highlight of the 2001 Reading and Leeds festivals.
Manson is presenting an award, while Eminem is to perform live.
