The band improvise after having to cancel a show in Atlanta...
COLDPLAY had to cancel a show in ATLANTA – but surprised fans by playing an impromptu gig in the car park next door!
The band are currently on a North American tour in support of their second album ‘A Rush Of Blood To The Head’.
However, their scheduled date at the outdoor Atlanta Masquerade Music Park (September 14) was pulled after freak weather conditions blew the roof of the stage and rain poured all over their equipment.
In an attempt to leave fans who had travelled with some memory of the day, singer Chris Martin was joined by bandmember Jonny Buckland outside the venue where they played a short, acoustic set. Songs included ‘Yellow, ‘In My Place’, ‘Green Eyes’ and ‘The Scientist’.
Later in the evening the band headed to the city’s Echo Lounge venue where The Frames were playing. Members of Coldplay and Ash, who are touring with the group got up on stage and made a second, impromptu performance.
