Chris Martin and Gwyneth Paltrow finalise divorce

A Los Angeles judge signed it off last Thursday (July 14)

Coldplay’s Chris Martin and actress Gwyneth Paltrow have finalised their divorce, after separating in March 2014.

The divorce, which Paltrow filed for in April 2015 citing “irreconcilable differences”, was signed off by a Los Angeles judge last Thursday (July 14) and states that neither party will pay spousal support.

Martin and Paltrow have been married since December 2003 and have two children together, Apple and Moses.

When the pair announced their split two years ago, they made a joint post on Paltrow’s Goop website calling it a “conscious uncoupling”, which subsequently crashed due to the volume of traffic it created.

Speaking about the reaction the phrase received to the BBC last month, Paltrow said: “It was such a difficult time in our lives. We didn’t know that the conscious uncoupling phrase was going to inspire so much conversation.

“Ultimately, it’s had a very positive impact. I’m very proud of it, I’m very proud of us. It’s a commitment that I make every day to my children, that I adore their father and that we’re a family, even though we’re not in a romantic relationship.”

Coldplay headlined the Sunday night at Glastonbury last month (June 26), where Martin invited his two children to join the band on stage to provide backing vocals. Apple and Moses’ mother was seen in the audience filming the pair.

But that isn’t the first time Martin’s son has joined Coldplay on stage, as Moses celebrated turning 10 years old in April by doing the same thing at their gig in Lima, Peru.
