Coolio pleads not guilty to drug charges

The rapper finds himself in trouble again

Coolio pleaded not guilty to drug-related and battery charges in Los Angeles Superior Court today (April 3).

The rapper, whose real name is Artis Ivey Leon Jr, claimed he was innocent of a felony drug charge and misdemeanour counts of battery and possession of a smoking device.

The charges stem from an incident on March 6 in which he was apprehended at Los Angeles International Airport after screeners allegedly found drugs in his luggage and a smoking device that authorities said was a crack pipe, reports E! Online.

Coolio is currently free on $10,000 bail, and is scheduled to appear in court for another hearing on April 20.

He was arrested in Los Angeles last year for an outstanding misdemeanour for driving while his licence was suspended.
