Corey Taylor shares touching piano tribute to mark late Slipknot bandmate Paul Gray’s birthday

Gray would have turned 46

Slipknot frontman Corey Taylor has paid tribute to his late bandmate Paul Gray by sharing a touching piano performance to mark what would have been his birthday.

The bassist was found dead in a hotel room after suffering a morphine overdose in May 2010. Yesterday would have been his 46th birthday.

In memory of his friend, Taylor took to Instagram to share a short piano instrumental with the caption ‘Happy Birthday’.

Meanwhile, Taylor recently gave fans an update on when to expect Slipknot’s next album.

Amid fears from fans that the next Slipknot album could be their last, Taylor revealed that the band are working through a wealth of new material.

“The guys are writing tons of music and I’ve written lyrics to almost all of it,” he said. “We’re going to start trying to put together demos here and there with the time off that I have and really try to get ahead of the curve as far as what happens next.”

Taylor added: “I know that we’re gonna try and put an album out next year – however, that is all speculation. The best way to make God laugh is to announce your plans out loud. So I’m just going with the flow. The plan right now is next year but that is a huge plan because we still haven’t narrowed anything down, so we will definitely see what happens.”
