Hear Courtney Barnett’s breezy new track ‘City Looks Pretty’

From new album 'Tell Me How You Really Feel'

Courtney Barnett has shared a new track from her upcoming album.

New LP ‘Tell Me How You Really Feel’ follows on from 2015’s ‘Sometimes I Sit and Think, and Sometimes I Just Sit’, out on May 18 through Barnett’s own Milk! Records label and Marathon Artists.

Aussie singer-songwriter Barnett has already previewed her record with the tracks ‘Need A Little Time’, ‘I’m Not Your Mother, I’m Not Your Bitch’ and lead single ‘Nameless, Faceless’.

‘City Looks Pretty’, Barnett’s latest offering, is an uptempo and breezy, jangle-pop number. Watch its video below.

Check back on NME.com on Friday (April 20) for a Big Read interview with Barnett.

Barnett broke through back in 2015 with the critically-acclaimed LP ’Sometimes I Sit And Think And Sometimes I Just Sit’.

Last year, she released a collaborative album ‘Lotta Sea Lice’ with Kurt Vile, which was recorded in eight days over a stretch of 15 months.

In 2016, she told NME that her second album was set to be darker and more melancholy than her debut.

“The new songs are a general reflection on the meaning of life, our purpose for being here and all that rubbish,” Barnett said. “I’ve been writing on piano a lot. It’s darker and more melancholy, probably as a reflection on politics.”
