The star speaks to shock jock Howard Stern about her traumatic week...

COURTNEY LOVE has called an American radio show to explain her court no shows this week.

The singer was due to attend a hearing on felony drug possession charges this week (February 11), but the singer didn’t show because of “security reasons”.

If Love fails to turn up for court on February 17, the hold on the warrant will be lifted and she will be arrested and held for $10,000 bail.

Yesterday Courtney called shock jock Howerd Stern’s radio program to explain her actions.

She said: “I didn’t show up for court because I didn’t have a professional bodyguard… I’m not going to plead guilty to something I didn’t do.”

BBC news reports that Stern asked Love to apologise when she makes her next appearance next week.

As previously reported on NME.COM, the charge stems from her October 2 arrest by the Los Angeles Police Department. If she is convicted on the charge, Love could face a maximum penalty of one year in county jail.

However, on the show she continued to protest her innocence. She said: “I didn’t throw any rocks at the window. I kicked the door in because I didn’t have the key. It’s my house. How would you like it? A kick in the door and you lose your kid over nothing?”
