As previously reported, the former Hole frontwoman allegedly threw a microphone stand into the crowd at a gig in the New York club Plaid on March 18.

Courtney Love followed her appearance in Manhattan Criminal Court with a “rambling” interview in the ladies’ toilets with female journalists.

“I’m exactly the same as I’ve always been,” Courtney Love explained.

“I’m not a demure housewife. Why should I start acting like one? I was a junkie. I’m not now,” she added.

Earlier in court, Courtney Love also claimed that she was arrested for the incident through police prejudice.

“You are arresting me because of what happened in LA. The police have a conspiracy against rocker chicks.”

The court date has been set for 28 June.

The widow of Nirvana frontman Kurt Cobain appeared in court earlier in the month, pleading not guilty to charges of drug possession. She also faces charges of disorderly conduct from the same incident, which took place in Los Angeles last year.
