Moloko, Morcheeba, Ween, FIONA APPLE and MACY GRAY all release singles today, but CRAIG DAVID is favourite to go straight to number one.
This week’s NME cover star releases his new single ‘7 Days’ through Wildstar, and is seeking to have his third number one, following hits with ‘Fill Me In’ and his collaboration with the Artful Dodger, ‘Re-Rewind’.
Other big releases this week come from Macy Gray, who releases ‘Why Didn’t You Call Me?’, the new single from debut her album ‘On How Life Is’, Morcheeba, who mark their comeback with the single ‘Rome Wasn’t Built In A Day’, and Moloko, who release the club favourite ‘Pure Pleasure’ through Echo.
A spokesperson for HMV in London told nme.com that Craig David was the likeliest candidate to break the top five, with the track a good bet for number one. He said: “Craig David is easily the strongest, but Macy Gray should do well too, it may go top ten due to its amazing video alone. As far as the other tracks go, Morcheeba may struggle as they don’t appear to have the same kind of radio play as the others.”
