Craig David on track for first UK Number One album in 16 years

James Arthur looks set to remain at Number One in the singles chart for a second week

Craig David is currently at Number One in the Official UK Albums Chart with new album ‘Following My Intuition’.

If the album remains in that position until the chart is released on Friday (October 7), it will mark his first chart-topping record in 16 years. His last came in 2000 when debut ‘Born To Do It’ was released.

According to the Official Charts Company, David’s closest competition is from Bon Iver, whose third album ‘22, A Million‘ is 3,500 sales behind the garage star at Number Two.

The release of a deluxe edition of Radiohead‘s ‘A Moon Shaped Pool‘, meanwhile, has sent that record back into the Top Five. It has climbed 81 places to Number Four.

In the Official UK Singles Chart, James Arthur is on course to remain at Number One with his recent single ‘Say You Won’t Let Go’.

The former X Factor contestant’s comeback track topped the chart last week and is currently 11,000 combined sales ahead of the Number Two single, The Chainsmokers‘ collaboration with Halsey, ‘Closer’.

One Direction member Niall Horan’s debut solo single, ‘This Town’, has risen 95 places to Number Five, while recent NME cover star Zara Larsson could score her fifth Top 20 single if ‘All My Fault’ stays in its current place at Number 18.
