DAVY CROCKETT, frontman of up and coming band THE CROCKETTS, attacked a journalist with a bottle in a LONDON bar in the early hours of this morning (December 13) because of a review that had been written about the band, according to eyewitnesses.

Following the incident, police were called to The Monarch, a renowned live venue in Camden, north London, at around 12.40am. They immediately closed the place, which was holding the Christmas party for London promoters Barfly, throwing everyone out well ahead of normal time. Though details are sketchy, an eyewitness has told NME.COM that Crockett (real name David McManus) became aggravated over a poor review that had been written of The Crocketts and attacked the journalist. He was later heard bragging about the attack.

A spokesperson for the band confirmed that there had been “a little altercation, a bit of a kerfuffle” involving Davy but was unable to confirm any further details. A spokesperson for the venue has refused to comment.
