Taking to her personal account, Glass wrote: “I am leaving Crystal Castles. My art and my self-expression in any form has always been an attempt towards sincerity, honesty, and empathy for others. For a multitude of reasons both professional and personal I no longer feel that this is possible within CC. Although this is the end of the band, I hope my fans will embrace me as a solo artist in the same way they have embraced Crystal Castles.”

The band are yet to post a statement regarding the split from their own social networks.

Crystal Castles formed in Toronto in 2004 and went on to release three studio LPs – 2008’s ‘(i)’, 2010’s ‘(ii) and 2012’s ‘(iii)’. During their career, the band worked with Cure frontman Robert Smith on 2010 single ‘Not In Love’ and also took part in the NME Awards Tour in 2011 alongside Magnetic Man, The Vaccines and Everything Everything.

Their last show together was on October 4, 2013 in Mexico.
