News on duo’s new album is due ‘soon’
Crystal Castles have shared the video for their new single ‘Concrete’, the second taster for their next album.
A week after sharing the song ‘Femen’, the video for ‘Concrete’ has officially been unveiled. It follows the song leaking on Korean website MNet last week. ‘Concrete’ has now officially been released for streaming and download.
A statement said that news of the accompanying album would be unveiled “soon”. It’s been rumoured on Crystal Castles fansites that the album is called ‘Amnesty (i)’ and will be released on August 19, though this has yet to be officially commented upon.
The album will follow 2012’s third record ‘iii’ and is the first to feature new vocalist Edith France, who replaced founding singer Alice Glass in April 2015. Since France joined, Crystal Castles have also shared the songs ‘Deicide’ and ‘Frail’.
A total of four new songs have been previewed live on tour. The band resumed touring on Saturday (July 2) at a festival in Russia.
Crystal Castles play at Reading And Leeds Festival in August. A new world tour has also been announced alongside the ‘Concrete’ video, but the only UK and Ireland date is at Metropolis Festival in Dublin on November 5.
However, there is a gap in the duo’s touring schedule for most of November, and NME understands that further UK and Ireland shows are likely before the end of 2016.
