Kasabian have stormed NME.COM’s tenth birthday celebrations in London tonight (September 12).
The band were joined by pal Noel Gallagher on guitar for ‘Club Foot’ and ‘The Doberman’.
The set proved a special one for the Leicester band as they tore through highlights from their two albums, 2004’s eponymous debut and recent chart-topper ‘Empire’.
Crowd favourites included stomping glam opener ‘Shoot The Runner’, the epic ‘By My Side’ and set closer ‘L.S.F.’.
They also played new Serge Pizzorno-fronted album track ‘British Legion’ for the first time ever live.
Speaking afterwards to NME.COM frontman Tom Meighan said: “It’s a really great little venue, I’m really buzzing. It’s an honour to play the party.”
He added that getting the Oasis leader to play with them had being a real highlight: “He just came down, we did a run through at soundcheck and he’s got it all straightaway. It’s strange to think he’s playing with us, but he’s a friend of ours now, so it all felt so natural.”
Gallagher was just happy to praise the band, simply asking NME.COM, “How good was that?”
Kasabian played:
‘Shoot The Runner’
‘Reason Is Treason’
