The band are accused of an assault on another act - but are quick to reassure fans it won't affect their forthcoming UK jaunt...
D12 will perform their UK festival dates later this month, despite being thrown off the WARPED TOUR in the US because of allegations of assault against another band.
Speaking to NME.COM this afternoon (August 8) Melvin Benn, promoter for the Carling Weekend Festival at Reading and Leeds and the Glasgow Gig On The Green festival, was quick to reassure fans that D12 will appear.
“The incident [of alleged assault] was backstage and was not an issue between D12 and the public. It was a personal thing between D12 and the other band. It will have no impact on their three shows,” he said.
“I have spoken to the band’s management and have no issues in respect to those concerts taking place.”
Benn was also quick to dispel growing rumours that charges could be brought against members of the band and so prevent them from travelling outside the US.
“There is no chance of charges as I understand it,” he said. “And I’m sure D12 will vigorously dispute any allegations against them.”
As reported on NME.COM yesterday, sure D12 were thrown off of the Warped tour after an alleged fight with underground rap outfit Natas in Camden, New Jersey last Friday (August 3).
One Natas rapper, Esham, was treated at a nearby health centre and released. His discharge sheet cites scrapes, contusions and bruises as his injuries. Natas have also been kicked off the bill.
