DAFT PUNK’s hotly-anticipated second album will be released in March of 2001, NME.COM can confirm.
In addition, reports on the US website [url=]www.sonicnet.com suggest that the album will be entitled ‘Discovery’. However, the band’s UK press spokesperson dismissed the reports, stating that the band were currently deciding between three or four different titles, and added that ‘Discovery’ may not even be one of those under consideration.
The band, whose ‘One More Time’ single hit Number Two in the charts in November, have shrouded the recording of their second album in utmost secrecy. However, a track entitled ‘Beta Wax’ that appears to be new material has appeared on the controversial Napster website. Whilst it’s uncertain whether the track is actually a new Daft Punk track, the furiously pitched, acid-tinged Moroder style workout certainly bears all the hallmarks of the band’s production.
