Meanwhile, two men in Daft Punk helmets are spotted filming in New York
A picture of Daft Punk with their masks off has been revealed via the Facebook page of production duo The Knocks.
The image shows what appears to be a Columbia Records office where two men, believed to be Thomas Bangalter and Guy-Manuel De Homem-Christo, are drinking champagne. The image was put on The Knocks‘ Facebook page yesterday (June 5) before being promptly removed and replaced with a message reading: “Guess we weren’t supposed to post that pic.” Click here to see the image via Gawker.
Asked by NME during their recent cover feature whether they were concerned about their faces being revealed, Thomas Bangalter said: “It’s funny, because the robots have a life of their own. Do you really want to know who is behind it? Take Anthony Daniels who plays C-3PO. You might have seen his face once or twice. Some people who are really obsessed might recognise him, but at some point you don’t care. That’s not what the exciting thing about it is. It feels like right now people aren’t insisting on seeing us.”
Guy-Manuel de Homem-Christo added: “The robots are famous, we’re not. We’re allowed to have a normal life like regular people and interact normally with people without so much of a fake situation. That’s really important to us.”
Meanwhile, reports suggest Daft Punk could be in New York filming a new music video after two men wearing Daft Punk helmets were seen filming alongside model Karlie Kloss between Park Avenue and 42nd Street near Grand Central in the city yesterday.
Daft Punk recently revealed that they are working on a remix of their ‘Get Lucky’ single and hope to release it next month. The French duo, who recently spent four weeks at Number One with the lead single from their album ‘Random Access Memories’, revealed in an interview that they are remixing a number of songs from the album themselves, with the ‘Get Lucky’ remix due in June.
