From the papers and beyond:

Mona‘s Nick Brown has been bigging up the UK in the papers as a haven for new music, describing the people of our island as “a lot more accepting and open-minded” than those in the his home country, the USA. Despite coming second on The X Factor last year, according to the red-tops One Direction have still convinced Simon Cowell’s record label to pump a cool £2 million into the boy band. A “source” revealed that the band are “in the States to meet top producers and songwriters before they start recording material for their debut album”. He also had a message for those who treat celebrities as role models, adding: “If you look to our TV presenters as leaders in morality you might as well sit in traffic.” Given he’s now retired from touring, maybe he has a future as a tabloid columnist (Daily Record).

Finally, Tinie Tempah has denied reports he has been booked to play the forthcoming royal wedding. Speaking on the Graham Norton Show he responded to the question over whether he’d been booked by saying: “Am I? Really? Are you serious?
