Former Happy Mondays dancer Bez has been embroiled in a police terrorism swoop after his friend Matthew Newton was one of four people arrested on Monday (November 16) for allegedly plotting to recruit British Taliban members.

27-year-old Newton first met Bez through the dancer’s son Arlo, after the pair ran a T-shirt company together. Speaking of the arrest, Arlo said: “It’s shocking for me and my dad. Matt‘s a top geezer. I’ve known him for two or three years. He got on with my dad and with everyone.” Pictures on Newton‘s Facebook page show him posing alongside Bez (The Sun).

Robert De Niro says he may enter the music studio with 50 Cent, who he recently met on the set of ‘Righteous Kill’ (Daily Star).

Lily Allen bought a ‘Strictly Tango’ CD at HMV in London‘s Oxford Circus (Daily Mirror).
