Lily Allen also caught up in travel chaos – your music gossip stop
Welcome to the Daily Gossip: your daily stop-off to find out what the stars of the music world have been up to in the tabloids and beyond, with the help of plenty of “anonymous sources”.
Today’s top gossip:
Poor Biffy Clyro – they’ve been caught up in travel chaos and are supposedly facing spending the festive break in Singapore. The trio are currently on tour with Muse, with an onward flight they were due to take put on hold until the weather eases. The band explained briefly in a tweet yesterday (December 20): “Christmas in Singapore then…”. If true, this means they’ll miss out on being back home in Scotland to celebrate The X Factor winner Matt Cardle taking their song ‘Many Of Horror’ to the top of the UK charts. The band are still scheduled to headline Edinburgh‘s Hogmanay on New Year’s Eve (Twitter.com/biffy_clyro).
From the papers and beyond:
Amy Winehouse‘s comeback (private) gig in Moscow on Sunday (19) – for a reported £1 million fee, no less – seems to have been a bit shaky. Video footage of her opening song ‘Cupid’ shows Winehouse asking her backing singers to sing the entire track while she puts in a somewhat half-hearted performance. Scroll down and click on the video below to watch the performance.
Seems that winning The X Factor doesn’t always guarantee you thousands of fans following your every move. Matt Cardle was greeted by just a handful of fans at a book signing at a central London Waterstone’s yesterday (20), we read. The poor showing was blamed on being “not very well publicised”, according to a chum of the singer (Daily Mirror).
According to the red-tops N-Dubz‘ Dappy and his mates had a spot of fisticuffs with fast-rising east London rapper Ghetts at a party event in the capital’s O2 Arena. Apparently Ghetts and his crew didn’t like it when the DJ played two N-Dubz songs back to back (The Sun).
