Welcome to the Daily Gossip: your daily stop-off to find out who in the world of music has been up to what.
Today’s top gossip:
Russell Brand and Carl Barat have formed a band together for his new film ‘Get Him To The Greek’. Called Infant Sorrow, the outfit previously just featured Brand, but Barat – who has written songs for the film’s soundtrack – has now been drafted in to back up the comic, alongside actor Jonah Hill, who also stars in the movie. The trio play their first gig tonight (May 24) at Hollywood venue The Roxy (The Sun).
From the papers:
Dizzee Rascal is set to step in to replace U2 at Glastonbury according to reports, should Bono’s back injury force the Irish band to pull their headline appearance. Though nothing official has been confirmed by organisers, sources say both the rapper (who is currently second top on the bill) and Coldplay‘s Chris Martin have been approached about playing the festival in place of U2 (The Sun).
Boyzone‘s Ronan Keating fought back tears during several promotional appearances in Zurich at the weekend, as he prepares to head back to Dublin today (May 24) for crisis talks with his wife Yvonne following revelations he had been unfaithful (various).
