Eels frontman Mark ‘E’ Everett is rumoured to be the fathering a child with Salman Rushdie‘s ex-wife Padma Lakshmi (full name Padma Parvati Lakshmi, Lady Rushdie). The two are said to have hooked up after Indian-American Lakshmi, who is best known as a cookbook author, actress and model, played E‘s love interest in Eels‘ 2009 video for ‘That Look You Give That Guy’. Her pregnancy is particularly astonishing as Lakshmi has suffered from endometriosis, which can cause infertility. Doctors are said to have called the pregnancy a “medical miracle” (Boston Globe).
