Starsailor‘s James Walsh has said he was told by Phil Spector‘s manager that his band wrecked the legendary producer’s credibility when they fired him in 2003. Spector, who was convicted of second degree murder on Sunday (April 13), was due to produce Starsailor‘s second album, ‘Silence Is Easy’, but Walsh says the band binned all but two tracks because the sessions were too fraught.
“His manager was very emotional, saying ‘Look what you are doing to his reputation,'” Walsh said, adding, “It is a shame we have become the last band Phil worked with” (Daily Mirror).
