Your 10:30 gossip stop: Liam Gallagher in a hat, Arctic Monkeys in a toilet...
Welcome once more to the 10:30 Ligger, your morning stop-off to find out what’s been going on in the world of indie while you were asleep.
First up, Adam Ficek of Babyshambles played a surprise DJ set in the early hours of Saturday morning (October 6) at the Rainbow pub in Birmingham, wearing a dashing black shirt.
His choice of tunes went down well – The Who, The Kinks, The Jam, and four Babyshambles songs, plus ‘Can’t Stand Me Now’ by The Libertines. Something tells us he’s happy with the latest ‘Shambles record, then.
Meanwhile, also in Birmingham, The Cribs were boozing in the Academy venue after playing the first night of their UK tour there earlier, during which Ryan Jarman passed out in the crowd for a full 20 seconds.
An NME.COM user wrote in to tell us they were stood between Arctic Monkeys’ Alex Turner and Phil Oakey of The Human League in the gents of an undisclosed Sheffield bar.
In the capital, Liam Gallagher was seen wearing an “interesting” hat on Hampstead Heath while, in the centre of town, The Kills’ Jamie Hince, currently dating Kate Moss, was spied walking around looking “grumpy”.
While his bandmate Adam was in Birmingham, Babyshambles’ Pete Doherty played an impromptu gig in The Sun Inn in Wiltshire, near his rehab retreat, sipping Guinness between songs.
Well, it’s a step up from Wetherspoons where he was spotted recently, although we’ll wager the pints were at least 40p more expensive.
Check back tomorrow for your next 10:30 Ligger.
