Your 10:30 gossip station: Amy Winehouse in McDonald’s, Dustin Hoffman by NME Towers…
Welcome once more to the Daily Ligger: your essential stop-off to find out where the stars of the indie world have been spotted out and about.
First up, Lily Allen was spotted boozing in London’s Groucho Club, where she bumped into Pete Doherty’s ex, Kate Moss.
The two apparently had a heated discussion about the merits of Courtney Love, who Lily has been hanging out with recently. The night ended with Lily stubbing out a cigarette on a photographer’s camera lens.
Earlier in the day, meanwhile, Amy Winehouse popped into McDonald’s in Islington for some chips and a drink.
In Kingston, London, ’80s popster Rick Astley was spied shopping in John Lewis, sparking memories of the hoax website countdown for Radiohead’s album, which played an Astley number when it reached zero, instead of revealing new album details.
In Highgate’s Boogaloo Bar Shane McGowan, who lives above the place, watched Alfie Jackson of The Holloways and Sam McCarthy of London indie types Gilkicker team up for an acoustic gig.
And in London’s trendy Met Bar Sam Riley, star of new Ian Curtis biopic ‘Control’, was spotted drinking mojitos. He joked to NME staffers at the bar that his next project would be a porn film.
In south London some less indie individuals, Dustin Hoffman and Emma Thompson were spotted outside an extremely indie location: NME Towers, filming a new flick.
We were intrigued as to what the film may be about. We’re hoping it’s a heart-wrenching epic about a group of music journalists struggling to make sense of the Jack Peñate album.
