Welcome to the Daily Gossip: your daily stop-off to find out who in the world of music has been up to what.
Today’s top gossip:
Malcolm McLaren‘s funeral took place in London yesterday (April 22), and was attended by the great and the good of punk and new wave. Among those at the ceremony were Sex Pistols members Glen Matlock and Paul Cook, Annie Lennox, Adam Ant, Primal Scream‘s Bobby Gillespie and Bob Geldof. Boy George sent a floral tribute in the shape of an anarchy symbol, and Steve Jones also sent a letter joking about the financial issues that dogged the Sex Pistols after they split up (various).
From the papers:
Slash says he wanted to get Thom Yorke to appear on his new solo album but “didn’t have the balls to call him” (The Sun).
From NME.COM users;
Primal Scream‘s Bobby Gillespie performed with Jamie Hince at a swanky do at London‘s Whitechapel Art Gallery. Kate Moss looked on and later went and had a chat with legendary album sleeve artist Peter Blake (from Bernard).
