Albarn performed the song as he debuted new solo tracks at the Sundance Film Festival in Utah. Before an intimate, invite-only audience at YouTube’s pop-up venue on Main Street on Sunday night (January 19), the Blur frontman performed acoustic versions of five new tracks off his forthcoming solo debut – due out April 28 – accompanied by a four-piece string section and keyboards. He then played one track each by Gorillaz and Blur.
The Blur frontman recently announced the imminent arrival of his first solo effort as well as a headline slot at this year’s Latitude Festival.
Albarn previously revealed that he almost started a whole new band while working on the album, but then decided against it.
Earlier this week Albarn was announced as the headliner for the inaugural BBC Radio 6 Music Festival later this year. The event will run between February 28 – March 1 at the Victoria Warehouse in Manchester will also feature performances from a host of artists including Haim Metronomy, Drenge and James Blake.
