Damon Albarn shares remix of Icelandic band Fufanu’s ‘Ballerina in the Rain’

The track was produced by Yeah Yeah Yeahs’s Nick Zinner

Damon Albarn has released a remix of a track by Icelandic band Fufanu.

Albarn was supported by the band at his Albert Hall gig in 2014. Blur also enlisted the duo to open for them at their Hyde Park show in 2015.

Alban has now returned the favour by remixing the group’s latest single ‘Ballerina in the Rain’. The track was produced by Yeah Yeah Yeahs guitarist Nick Zinner and features dj. flugvél go geimskip (whose name translates to ‘DJ Airplane and Spaceship’) on vocals.

Fufanu’s frontman Kaktus Einarsson also contributed to Albarn’s 2014 solo album ‘Everyday Robots’. His father is Einar Örn Einarsson of the Sugarcubes.

Alban also recently collaborated with grime MC Kano, appearing on the track ’Deep Blues’ from his upcoming album ‘Made In The Manor’. The album also features Wiley and Giggs and will be released on March 4.

Meanwhile, he was awarded with an OBE in the 2016 New Year’s Honours list for his contribution to music. The likes of Goldie and Idris Elba were also listed this year.

‘Ballerina in the Rain’ is out March 11, listen to Albarn’s remix below.
