Police used pepper spray on R&B superstar D’ANGELO after he is alleged to have resisted arrest on charges of aggressive driving.

The singer – real name Michael Eugene Archer – was arrested at his home in Richmond by Chesterfield police after an alleged confrontation with a woman at a petrol station last Sunday (17 Nov). The singer is said to have sworn at the woman and spat on her after he cut her up in his luxury SUV.

The artist is due to appear in court on Jan. 15 appearance in Chesterfield General Court. Policeman Major James B. Bourque said that D’Angelo had resisted arrest and had to be subdued.

He is charged with aggressive driving, assault, curse and abuse, disorderly conduct, and resisting arrest.

D’Angelo won two Grammy awards after releasing the chart topping album ‘Voodoo’.
