DANIEL BEDINGFIELD’s attempt to turn on the Christmas lights in LONDON ended in embarrassment last night (November 13) when he plunged the power and the lights failed to come on.
The singer was the guest of honour at opening of the Regent’s Street display, which features approximately 8,000 bulbs.
An estimated 10,000 people watched as Bedingfield and a small child attempted to turn on the lights, and failed.
There was then a 20-minute wait before the lights were actually fixed.
The singer told BBC London: “I think I’m the only human in history that single-handedly demolished Regent Street lights and the sound system. I feel very proud of myself. I’ve gone down in history tonight.”
