Robbie Williams holds onto top of album chart too...

DANIEL BEDINGFIELD has held onto the top spot on the UK chart for a second week as his ‘GOTTA GET THRU THIS’ tonight (December 9) saw off SOPHIE ELLIS BEXTOR’s new single ‘MURDER ON THE DANCEFLOOR’.

Bextor scored the highest new entry going in at number two ahead of Stereophonics whose cover of ‘Handbags and Gladrags’ entered at four. Perennial pop favourites Steps saw their new track ‘Words Are Not Enough’ go in at five ahead of Hermes House Band at seven with ‘Country Roads’ and kids favourites Tweenies at nine with their punt for Christmas number one ‘I Believe In Christmas’.

Cliff Richard narrowly missed the top 10 going in at 11 with his take on ‘Somewhere Over The Rainbow’ two places above skate-punk newcomers Sum 41 at 13 with ‘In Too Deep’ which is itself one ahead of Liberty at 14 with ‘Doin’ it’. The only entry on the top 20 were Dreem Teem & Artful Dodger with ‘It Ain’t Enough’ at 20.

Other entries further down the chart come from Roger Snachez at 25 with ‘You Can’t Change Me’, DMX at 34 with ‘Who We Be’, Baz at 36 with ‘Believers’, ‘EP Three’ from 100 Reasons at 37 and ‘Light A Rainbow’
