Dave Grohl has appeared in a new promotional video for the Seattle tourism board – watch the clip below.
Although born in Ohio and raised in Virginia, Grohl has developed a particular affinity for the Washington state city over the years – something that is, in large part, due to its affiliation with Nirvana and Foo Fighters.
Grohl has now become an unofficial ambassador for the Visit Seattle tourism board, with the frontman taking time to sit down to explain his love for Seattle in a new promotional video.
The short film documenting Grohl’s association with Seattle has now been released, featuring the 49-year-old talking about his first time visiting the city, the rise of its grunge scene, and how he recommended the city to his mother as an ideal place to retire.
“It became this part of my DNA that serves as this divining rod wherever I go,” Grohl says in the clip. “I wouldn’t be here if it wasn’t for Seattle.”

Earlier this month, Grohl was spotted by a fan at an arts and crafts shop – and the response to the subsequent photos online was rather pun-heavy.
