Take That’s Howard Donald names new son Bowie in tribute to late star

Donald's wife Katie gave birth on Tuesday

Take That‘s Howard Donald has named his baby son Bowie, in tribute to David Bowie who passed away this week.

Donald (pictured above centre with bandmates Gary Barlow and Mark Owen) and wife Katie Halil welcomed their new son into the world on Tuesday (January 12). Bowie is their first child and the Take That member told fans about the news in a post earlier today.

He tweeted: “Bowie Taylan Donald came into this world on Tues 12th Jan. Mummy and daddy suffering sleep deprivation but life is wonderful, he is divine.”

He was also one of the many musicians to pay tribute to Bowie following the news of his death earlier this week. Donald shared a picture of himself with Bowie and tweeted: “Feel very honoured that I have a photo of me and jay with david Bowie. When we did TOTP.What a genius and a great loss. RIP.”

As reported, producer Tony Visconti has revealed Bowie was planning to record and release another album after ‘Blackstar’. It was previously suggested in a separate report that there is material leftover from the ‘Blackstar’ sessions which could see a future release.

David Bowie has been cremated in New York according to reports. It is believed he was privately cremated without any friends and family present, as per his wishes. He wanted “to go without any fuss”, a source told two UK newspapers.

He passed away on Sunday (January 10) following an 18 month battle with cancer. Reports have since suggested that he “died from liver cancer” after “surviving six heart attacks”.
