‘Lazarus’ is the second single to be taken from Bowie’s 25th studio album ‘Blackstar’. The album is due for release on Friday (January 8), the same day Bowie turns 69.

Producer Tony Visconti previously stated that the record was influenced by Kendrick Lamar and will also feature LCD Soundsystem’s James Murphy.

“We loved the fact Kendrick was so open-minded and he didn’t do a straight-up hip-hop record. He threw everything on there, and that’s exactly what we wanted to do,” said the producer of the Compton rapper. “The goal, in many, many ways, was to avoid rock & roll.”

‘Lazarus’ features in the recent Bowie stage production of the same name, which opened in New York earlier this month.
