BOWIE HIRES ONE OF HIS ‘HEROES’

The two rock legends team up and, erm, "remain cool"...

THE WHO veteran PETE TOWNSHEND has recorded guitar parts for DAVID BOWIE‘s forthcoming, as-yet-untitled new album.

Townshend agreed to take part in the project, which is being produced by Tony Visconti, after hearing a number of demos at a New York recording studio.

Townshend says in the diary section of his own website, www.petetownshend.com, that Bowie‘s new material is “surprising, moving, poetic (in a musical and visionary sense). I think real Bowie fans will be able to walk tall soon in the knowledge that their hero can still break all the rules and remain cool.”

The two last shared a stage at the Concert for NYC in Madison Square Garden, New York, on October 20, where Bowie performed a cover of Simon And Garfunkel’s ‘America’, as well as his classic ‘Heroes’.
