David Bowie has met hundreds of fans in a rare public appearance.
As previously reported, 150 lucky fans were given the chance to meet David Bowie when he made a very rare personal appearance at HMV’s Oxford Street store in London today (September 9).
The star was in the shop from 11am, signing copies of his new album ‘Heathen’.
However, entry was via ticket only, restricted to the first 150 people obtaining free tickets via his website, www.davidbowie.com .
One fan who got tickets was Alex Sankey, from Manchester. He told ITV news: “I’ve followed him since the early 70s. I followed him all over and he’s always an absolute gentleman, he’s always very good to us. This album is as good as anything he’s ever done. It’s fantastic. He’s getting better.”
Another fan added: “I just told him that I’ve still got a silk scarf and T-shirt from when I went to see him at Stafford’s Bingley Hall in 1976. He’s just such a versatile performer.”
